The opening to Sylee Gore’s book-length work Cloud Archive received the Queen Mary Wasafiri New Writing Prize. “Cloud Archive is perfectly composed,” the judges wrote. “Weaving philosophy with poetry, the piece left the judges impressed, moved, and enlightened.” Ishion Hutchinson chose two sections from Cloud Archive as the Poetry Society of America Chapbook Fellowship runner-up.

Gore’s artwork has been exhibited in Germany and Britain; upcoming exhibitions include Green Door Gallery, Brussels (2024) and Jeannie Avent Gallery, London (2025). Her translations (German-to-English) of art monographs are published by Hatje Cantz, Koenig Books, Prestel, and Steidl. Her fiction and poetry are published in The London Magazine, Poetry London, The Rialto, and Shearsman, as well as Bennington Review, Brooklyn Review, and Kenyon Review.

Her awards include the Bird in Your Hand Prize from Northern Arizona University and the Lord Alfred Douglas Memorial Prize and Colin Franklin Prize from Oxford University.

Sylee Gore is raised in the US and works between Berlin and Oxford. She holds an MSt (Distinction) in Creative Writing from Oxford University and a BA (Honors) in English Literature and the History and Philosophy of Science from Stanford University.
